Church and Dwight Recalls Zicam and Orajel Swabs Due to Fungal Contamination
A company based in New Jersey that specializes in personal care and household products is issuing a recall for three of its items. Church and Dwight is recalling its Zicam cold remedy nasal swabs, Zicam nasal all clear swabs, and Orajel baby teething swabs due to potential contamination with fungi. The contaminated swabs could lead to a severe and life-threatening blood infection if used. Individuals with compromised immune systems or underlying medical conditions, as well as children, are particularly vulnerable to the risks associated with these products. While there have been no reported illnesses linked to the swabs, the company advises consumers to dispose of the affected products or return them to the store of purchase for a refund.
