Elon Musk Deletes Controversial Posts About Trump and Epstein, Fueling Feud

Elon Musk has recently deleted posts on X, previously known as Twitter, where he made claims about President Donald Trump being mentioned in Jeffrey Epstein's files. This action has intensified the feud between the two individuals. Musk had previously supported Trump's presidential campaign with a significant donation and referred to himself as Trump's close friend. The conflict between Musk and Trump escalated when Musk criticized a spending bill approved by the House, which Trump dubbed the "One Big Beautiful Bill," leading to a war of words between the two. Musk accused the bill of being full of "pork," referring to excessive discretionary spending, which Trump countered by suggesting Musk leave the government due to wearing thin.
Despite Musk's claims about Trump being included in the Epstein files, which he later deleted, there is no concrete evidence to support this allegation. Trump has denied any involvement in Epstein's criminal activities, and previous court cases have cleared him of such accusations. While Musk's original posts on the topic have disappeared from his timeline, some reposts discussing the alleged connection between Trump and Epstein remain visible. Trump responded to Musk's accusations by sharing a statement from Epstein's former lawyer, David Schoen, asserting that Epstein had no information to harm Trump.
Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted sex offender, died in 2019 while awaiting trial on sex-trafficking charges. Despite the release of thousands of pages of records related to Epstein over the years, there is no indication that Trump is mentioned in any unreleased files. Trump had previously hinted at releasing files related to Epstein during his 2024 presidential campaign, with some documents released in February offering no significant revelations. The FBI is currently reviewing materials related to Epstein before making them public.
The public dispute between Musk and Trump has led to threats from Trump to review Musk's government contracts and warn of potential consequences if Musk supports Democratic candidates in elections. The fallout from this conflict between the two former allies continues to unfold, hinting at possible further escalations in the future.
