This means that fans can now enjoy the original studio albums once again, leading to a significant increase in sales and streaming for Swift's catalog. Following the buyback of her master recordings, Swift's fans have been re-consuming all her music, including the original Big Machine studio albums. Despite re-recording and releasing "Taylor's Versions" of four of the six titles during the period when she did not own her works, Swift has now officially repurchased the master recordings.

In a heartfelt letter shared on May 30, Taylor Swift announced the milestone of regaining ownership of her music. This announcement resulted in a remarkable boost in streaming and sales for the artist's catalog. According to preliminary data from Luminate, Swift's entire catalog was streamed 30.64 million times on the day of the announcement, marking a 55.1% increase in catalog streams. This surge included the six studio albums released by Big Machine as well as everything she has released since 2019, including subsequent albums and re-recordings.

Spotify also reported a significant increase in streaming figures for the original versions of Taylor Swift's albums following the announcement. Streams for all original versions at least doubled on the day of the announcement compared to the albums' average daily streams from April 1 through May 29. Notably, "Speak Now" saw a 430% increase in streams globally, making it the album with the biggest individual spike. Even albums like "Taylor Swift" and "Reputation," which do not have a "Taylor's Version," experienced a boost in streams, with increases of 220% and 175%, respectively. Additionally, "Fearless," "Red," and "1989" saw increases of 160%, 150%, and 110%, respectively, showcasing the enduring popularity of Swift's music even without new releases.
