The incident occurred after Ruby Gradillas and Colby Slate attended a concert at the Alamodome and returned to find their vehicle missing from the parking lot. It was later discovered that Atlas Towing did not have permission from the property owner to tow vehicles from the lot, leading to multiple drivers taking legal action against the towing company. During a tow hearing at Precinct 1, it was revealed that Atlas Towing had no valid agreement with the current property owner to conduct towing operations on the premises. Despite claims of an agreement dating back to 2016, the towing company failed to provide evidence to support their actions. Judge Ruiz ultimately ruled in favor of Gradillas and Slate, emphasizing the negative impact such incidents have on tourists visiting San Antonio.
