Alabama Contractor Sentenced to 20 Years for Pool Construction Scam: Gregory Kirk's Deceptive Practices Exposed

An Alabama contractor who took deposits from customers for pool construction projects but failed to complete the work has been sentenced to 20 years in prison. Gregory Kirk pleaded guilty to multiple property crimes, stealing over $600,000 from clients, according to the Alabama Attorney General’s Office. Kirk operated pool construction businesses in Madison County under various names, filing for bankruptcy after receiving payments and then starting new businesses without finishing previous projects. Attorney General Steve Marshall condemned Kirk's actions, stating that he deceived and stole from customers who trusted him with their money. Kirk also committed fraud by forging a contractor’s license, using a fake building permit, and misusing a customer’s credit card. Madison County is located approximately 110 miles northeast of Birmingham.
