Violent Attack in Big Rock Township: 18-Year-Old Threatens to Kill 71-Year-Old Relative
A young man in Big Rock Township, Illinois, threatened to kill his 71-year-old relative during a violent attack in her home, according to deputies. The deputies witnessed the man assaulting the woman through a locked door, prompting them to intervene. The 18-year-old was apprehended after authorities forced their way into the residence, as reported by the Kane County Sheriff’s Office on May 31. To protect the victim's identity, the suspect's name has not been disclosed.
Upon entering the home, deputies managed to separate the man and the woman. However, the man became aggressive towards the authorities and had to be subdued with a taser. During the altercation, he even bit one of the deputies. The elderly woman sustained serious injuries and was promptly taken to the hospital for treatment. The man was subsequently arrested and faces multiple charges, including attempted murder, aggravated domestic battery, and resisting a peace officer, among others, according to the sheriff’s office.
The suspect is scheduled to appear in court on June 5 to address the charges brought against him. Big Rock Township, located approximately 50 miles west of downtown Chicago, was the site of this disturbing incident.
