"Revamped and Revitalized: Explore the New Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum Experience"

[!CDATA[The newly renovated museum at Indianapolis Motor Speedway has reopened to the public after undergoing an $60.5 million renovation project. The museum now features seven permanent galleries, three rotating galleries, and approximately 40,000 square feet of new space for immersive experiences. Visitors can explore artifacts from over a century of racing history at the speedway, including a dedicated wing for the four-time Indy 500 winners like Rick Mears, A.J. Foyt, Al Unser, and Helio Castroneves. The museum offers interactive technology and STEM spaces for educational purposes, making it more than just a gallery of racing memorabilia. Visitors can take a guided tour through a recreation of Gasoline Alley, explore the Starting Line Experience with replicas of cars from the front row of the Indy 500, and view various cars and artifacts from the museum's extensive collection. The lower level of the museum celebrates the four-time winners and features a rotating gallery of cars from Chip Ganassi Racing. Proceeds from the sale of some vehicles were used to acquire 14 cars from the Ganassi team, including five Indy 500 winners, which are now on display at the museum. The museum also plans to build a separate preservation shop near the track to work on its 200-plus cars and display more of its collection. The renovated museum aims to enhance the experience for visitors, racing fans, and the community, showcasing the rich history of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the sport of auto racing.]]
